Inflation continues to drive up the cost of living and increase reliance on supermarket systems.
Traditional supermarket chains, and their large-scale supply chains, contribute to higher prices, excessive food waste, and less fresh produce on our tables.
This model limits local producers’ ability to contribute to food supply and is not sustainable.
While supermarkets will always have a role in food distribution, the need for alternative, sustainable solutions is critical.
In the current fresh produce market, traditional supply chains leave growers with only ~15 cents of every dollar spent, while a substantial ~85 cents is consumed by marketing, distribution, and retail intermediaries.
In contrast, Community Grocery Store (CGS) significantly disrupts this model by charging a 5% transaction fee to consumers and a 5% marketing fee to growers for a total of 10%. (The 10% fee includes a 1% cashback fee and a 1% loyalty fee, thats returned to customers).
Community Grocery Store (CGS) receives a total of 8% on every transaction.
This revolutionary structure substantially lowers overall costs, allowing consumers direct access to fresher, locally-grown produce, and ensures that growers retain a much larger share of their profits, promoting sustainability and affordability within local communities
